Well-being Fit Body and Soul Retreat, with Joanna Mason & Autumn Evans
Friday 15th - 17th November 2019
Since the beginning of my own journey into the workings of the mind, body and soul I knew I had found my path. In light of this, we have designed a weekend away in the beautiful Lake District, that will leave you feeling relaxed, energised and renewed. Our overall goal is to is to foster a sense of empowerment and independence. Many of my clients come to class, trying to find this sense of peace in the busy world that we live; if this is you, then our weekend ‘Well-being Fit Body and Soul Retreat’ is the perfect solution for you. The love of helping people, making a difference and the desire to share both our experiences, is what we aim for during this weekend away.
In 2016, a study was undertaken by the Ohio State University, highlighted considerable evidence that suggests retreats enhance physical, mental, social and spiritual health; these effects are from meditation, yoga, exercise, social cohesion and stress reduction. During your time on our retreat, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the luxurious Lake Side Hotel, and the beautiful surroundings of Lake Windermere. The Spa in the hotel is in included, along with the opportunity to spend some time in nature.
The overall aim is to offer you a weekend-long experience that is structured on encouraging you to form some life-long habits and to foster a connection with nature, social connections with like-minded people while avoiding news, electronic media and the use of digital media. You will have the option of being able to engage with your inner and outer strength through Restorative and Flow style Yoga with Joanna or choose a more energetic way of movement with a cardio or weights-based session with Autumn, with a strong emphasis on alignment and correct movement.
I have been involved in the fitness industry for 25 years and have taught mind and body classes for 18 years. I attended my first yoga class 18 years ago and was instantly hooked. I love the space that yoga creates in both body and mind. I completed my training in 2015 with Conrad Paul at the YMCA in Manchester, and have completed further training in Yin, meditation, kids’ yoga, baby yoga and massage, and yoga for trauma.
I have been in the fitness industry for over 11 years, I teach group exercise classes as well as personal training. I am qualified in nutrition which is one of my biggest passions I believe if we take care of the body from the inside the outside will pretty much take care of itself.
I observe the fitness and diet fads currently, and this inspires a resolute in my ideals to educate and motivate people into the right kind of training and nutrition. The key is balance; a good mix of cardiovascular, strength, stretching as well as mindful training for your body and mind, this mixed with a balanced diet, that includes all food groups, whilst not excluding anything your body needs.
“Thank you so much for teaching on my retreat, Joanna, all the girls were raving about you, it was amazing. It was so much more than I could have hoped for.” Emily
“Autumn is a brilliant trainer, I have a lot of health issues and she is able to accommodate all of my needs, nothing is too much trouble for her, and I have made so much progress, thanks to her.” Rachel
